Description: | The German foundation St. Barbara is active in humanitarian mine clearance and clearance of explosive ordnances since 1995. In general the foundation carries out projects in former war zones, e.g. Libya, Angola or Somaliland. Since in Germany live many refugees from war zones, the foundation St. Barbara developed the training cource “Post-War Pioneers”. The focus of the training emphasises on hazards from "explosive remnants of war" in order to educate migrants who are returning to such areas about threats, awareness and safe behaviour.
Further course contents are first aid, basic knowledge on water, sanitary provision as well as information on reconstruction work. Participants will be able to pass on their acquired knowledge, especially on safe behaviour, to family members and other persons in their country of origin.
