The wastewater treatment plant of the municipality of Isselburg reached its design capacity of 14,000 population equivalents (PT) and was therefore not able to extend their commercial area and housing estate. The new design parameter was set to 20,000 PT. Due to rising energy costs the complete plant was analysed during the design phase to optimise the energy consumption. For this reason the following technical devices were implemented amongst others: most energy efficient pumps and compressors, new insulation of digester tower, block heating station, heat exchanging device etc. |
