| Description: | Due to the civil war in Liberia (1989 – 2003) many people fled to the neighbouring country Sierra Leone. For this reason UNCHR was operating several refugee camps, among others the refugee camp in Taiama (Moyamba district). In Taiama refugee camp approximately 7,500 Liberian refugees were living with an inadequate water supply. For this reason THW carried out a fact-finding mission to develop ways to improve the water supply in Taiama refugee camp as well as in Taiama town. | ||
